Marty created the original for this art piece in 1985, inspired by a fairy tale book illustrated by Adrienne Segur that was given to her in 1962, when she was just 11 years old. This remarkable picture book has been the inspiration of many of Marty's storybook collections but not all of Marty's fans appreciate her frank but innocent depiction of this Grimm Fairy Tale.
